New York Public Adjuster Pre-Licensing
This course fulfills New York's pre-licensing course requirements for public adjuster licensing. Students must take an approved pre-licensing course before they are allowed to register to take the state exam. You can find us on NY's list of approved pre-licensing providers.
This 40-hour course is 100% online and self-paced, and you have as much time as you need to work through it. At the end of the course, you will be given a 60-question, multiple-choice final exam. You must correctly answer at least 70% of the questions to pass our course. However, we recommend consistently achieving 90% or higher on all the quizzes and practice exams before taking the state exam.

How do i get my public adjuster license?
New York
- Prepare for the exam using our New York approved Public Adjuster pre-licensing course
- Pass the NY Public Adjuster Exam Series 17-62 administered by PSI
- Complete fingerprinting
- Apply for the license using NY LINX
Upload the following documents with the online application:
- Complete Bond, including Acknowledgements and Power of Attorney form
- Certificates of Character
- Signed IdentoGO pre-enrollment confirmation/receipt

- Prepare for the exam using our Public Adjuster Exam Prep course
- Apply for license on NIPR (before taking exam)
- Pass the NC Public Adjuster administered by PearsonVue
- Secure a $20,000 surety bond or letter of credit

Do I need the NY pre-licensing course or the exam prep course?
If you are trying to get licensed in New York, then you need the New York Pre-licensing course. If you are trying to get licensed in state that does not have a pre-licensing requirements, then you need the exam prep. We're adding regularly to the states that the exam prep covers.
